Linda Thompson is a self-taught artist who grew up in rural Mobile, Alabama.  After graduating from Williamson High School in 1970, she moved to Detroit, Michigan. She continued to have a passion for art, but did not pursue an art career. In 1989, she accidentally caught a glimpse of an artist painting on the Learning Channel and that stirred her passion for becoming an artist.

She began teaching herself to paint in acrylics while working in Law Enforcement.  Her difficult work schedule did not permit taking art lessons.  She continued watching other artists on the Learning Channel. She painted, read books, and learned from her mistakes.

After painting landscapes and other interests for 29 years, she found herself interested in abstract art again.  She is enjoying the adventure of abstract art and she is going to paint and enjoy wherever it takes her.
